Carmody Torrance Sandak & Hennessey LLP is proud to announce that Rick Street, the firm’s Managing Partner, was honored as Regional Managing Partner of the Year 2024 at the ALM/Law.com New England Legal Awards held last night at the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel in Boston.

Rick took the helm of Carmody just weeks before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Faced with unprecedented challenges, he navigated the firm prioritizing the health and well-being of attorneys and staff while implementing effective remote work policies and safety protocols. Under Rick’s decisive leadership, Carmody swiftly adapted to the new normal, resuming safe in-office operations mere months after the lockdown. This quick turnaround not only bolstered firm morale but also ensured uninterrupted service for clients. Following the return to the offices, Rick oversaw the construction of two modern workspaces in New Haven and Stamford.

“Rick’s leadership has been instrumental in guiding Carmody through challenging times while fostering a collaborative and supportive workplace,” said former Managing Partner Brian Henebry.

Under Rick’s leadership the firm has been named a Top Workplace* in Connecticut. Rick has actively championed diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives and his leadership has earned Carmody accolades for superior client service. The firm was recognized in BTI Consulting Group’s 2023 Client Service A-Team survey, and Rick himself was named a Client Service All-Star in June 2024, reflecting his dedication to client satisfaction and service excellence.

In Spring 2023, under Rick’s stewardship, Carmody experienced significant growth through the strategic combination with Donahue, Durham & Noonan, a respected litigation firm.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Rick is committed to community engagement and is part of the New Haven Regional Leadership Committee. He has established the Carmody Cares Committee, promoting initiatives that give back to the communities in which the firm operates.
