Kristianna’s current practice is devoted to defending and advising clients in connection with medical malpractice claims. She has experience defending hospitals, physicians, and other health care providers in both pre-litigation and litigation matters involving wrongful death, delayed diagnosis of cancer, and catastrophic injuries that often lead to such claims. She also handles personal injury matters, including those arising from premises liability claims and motor vehicle accidents.
Kristianna graduated from Quinnipiac School of Law in the top 7% of her class. During law school, she served as an Associate Editor on the Quinnipiac Law Review, and received the following academic achievement awards: Academic Excellence Award; Outstanding Legal Scholarship Award; and Distinguished Academic Achievement Awards for Legal Skills I, Legal Skills II, Civil Procedure, Conflict of Laws, Trial Practice, and Products Liability. Her casenote, A Gap in Personal Jurisdiction Reasoning: An Analysis of J. McIntyre Machinery, Ltd. v. Nicastro, was published in Volume 31 of the Quinnipiac Law Review. Kristianna was also the recipient of the Glickstein Memorial Scholarship for her work on the Connecticut Innocence Project in 2012.
After graduating law school, Kristianna served as a clerk to the judges of the New Haven Superior Court. Kristianna then worked for Sikorsky Aircraft in the Legal Department, where she focused on international trade compliance. Her work focused on U.S. export controls and economic sanctions, export licensing, and compliance with federal regulations such as the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
Prior to joining Carmody, Kristianna was an associate at the law firm of Donahue, Durham and Noonan P.C., where she handled the defense of medical malpractice and personal injury matters.
