Carmody is pleased to announce that The Honorable Douglas C. Mintz (Ret.) has been selected to serve as a panelist for the American Arbitration Association (AAA). The AAA is a not-for-profit organization focused on providing alternative dispute resolution services to individuals and organizations who wish to resolve conflicts out of court.

AAA is the nation’s leading provider of alternative dispute resolution services that is comprised of highly accomplished attorneys and former state and federal court judges who have industry-specific knowledge and expertise.  The AAA role in the dispute resolution process is to administer cases, from filing to closing aiming to move cases through arbitration or mediation in a fair and impartial manner until completion. Additional AAA services include the development of alternative dispute resolution systems for corporations, unions, government agencies, law firms, and the courts.

Prior to joining Carmody, Judge Mintz served as a Connecticut Superior Court Judge. He was appointed to the Superior Court in 1993 and served as the Civil Presiding Judge and the Assistant Administrative Judge for the Judicial District of Stamford/Norwalk, and as the Administrative Judge and the Civil Presiding Judge for the Judicial District of Danbury. Before serving on the bench, Judge Mintz was a State Representative for Norwalk (1987-1992) and served as the Vice-Chair of the Judiciary Committee for most of that time.
