On June 25, 2019, Governor Lamont signed into law one of the nation’s most generous paid FMLA laws that will impact nearly every Connecticut employer and employee. It is probably the most significant workplace law that Connecticut has passed in decades, and mandatory employee payroll deductions to fund the program will start on January 1, 2021.
We are very pleased that Andrea Barton Reeves, CEO of the Paid Family and Medical Leave Insurance Authority, will join us on November 20, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. for a 90-minute webinar. Andrea will provide an overview of the new law and address important issues affecting employers, such as how employers will register and remit the employee contributions, how eligibility determinations will be made, and how the CT Paid Leave law differs from the CT FMLA. Andrea and attorneys in our Labor and Employment group also will be available to answer your questions.
We invite you to attend this important complimentary webinar.
