Carmody Torrance Sandak & Hennessey LLP has elected Richard L. Street as the firm’s Managing Partner, effective February 1, 2020. Previously, Rick has served as Assistant Managing Partner of the firm and as Practice Group Leader of the firm’s litigation group.
Outgoing Managing Partner Ann Zucker said, “Rick has a strong legal and business mind that makes him particularly well-suited to be Managing Partner. He is respected and trusted by both clients and members of the firm. Rick has my full confidence and support as he steps into this leadership role.”
Rick joined the firm as an associate in 1993 and became a partner in 2001. He is a trial lawyer with substantial experience representing energy companies and other businesses in land use, catastrophic personal injury and construction litigation matters. He has been recognized for his work for clients in the courtroom by being named a Connecticut Super Lawyer for the last decade and being named a Connecticut Litigation Star by Benchmark Litigation numerous times. The Danbury Office of the State’s Attorney has also recognized him for his pro bono efforts for victim advocacy.
Rick earned his J.D. from Duke University School of Law and A.B. cum laude from Hamilton College. Rick is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, Waterbury Bar Association, New Haven Bar Association and the Connecticut Defense Lawyers Association.

In addition to Rick’s professional leadership, he lives with his family in Sandy Hook, CT where he has been very active in the Newtown sports community.
