Accounting Manager – Waterbury (non-remote)
Carmody is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join the firm’s Finance team. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer and manages financial reporting, accounts payable, budgeting and audit processes and workflows. Skill Requirements:- Experience running and creating interim, monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and accounting reports;
- Familiarity managing an annual audit with an external accounting firm company;
- Ability to supervise accounts payable and reimbursement processes and workflows;
- Ability to supervise the work of trust accounting bookkeeper;
- Ability to maintain general ledger and make any corrections as needed;
- Ability to maintain fixed asset inventory, including recording assets, calculating depreciation, providing information and submitting property tax returns for each office;
- Prepare and finalize expense budget data for staff, attorneys and management team;
- Supervise document preparation and year end Trial Balance and work with external accountants for annual audit;
- Familiarity with the federal and state tax codes;
- Willingness to attend annual continuing professional education courses covering tax law changes (at employer’s expense).

Medical Malpractice Defense and Plaintiff’s Personal Injury Paralegal – Waterbury (non-remote)
Carmody is seeking an experienced litigation Paralegal to join the Firm’s Medical Malpractice Defense team and Plaintiff’s Personal Injury team. This position supports the delivery of quality client services by providing support to attorneys working in these complex areas. Skill Requirements:- High level of proficiency in Adobe and Microsoft Word;
- Experience handling medical records requests and tracking responses from health care providers;
- Experience with drafting pleadings, correspondence and claim statements;
- Experience communicating with clients, health care providers and experts;
- Ability to efficiently manage scheduling, calendars and deadlines;
- Experience with tracking and following up on discovery;
- Proficiency with state and federal e-filing;
- Proficiency in Excel;
- Knowledge of turbo-court;
- Knowledge of trial director.

Information Technologist (non-remote)
Carmody is seeking an Information Technologist to join the Firm, to be based in the New Haven, Stamford, Guilford or Waterbury office. The Information Technologist provides support for a variety of desktop computers, laptop computers and networking hardware, including maintenance, software installation, and workstation and network support to ensure computer equipment meets Firm and end user requirements. They will troubleshoot computer problems, determine the source and advise on appropriate action, complete application project-based work, and assist with data collection, analysis and maintaining the related software and hardware for the firm’s eDiscovery team. Skill Requirements:- Install, configure, and maintain personal computers, Windows networks, workstations, file servers, network cabling, and other related equipment, devices and systems; adds or upgrades and configures drives, printers and related equipment
- Investigate user problems and identifies their source; determine possible solutions; test and implement solutions
- Perform and/or oversee software and application installation and upgrades
- Implement network security, including maintaining firewalls, configuring VPN, managing host security, file permissions, file system integrity, and adding and deleting users
- Troubleshoot networks, systems, and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties

Real Estate & Land Use Legal Assistant – Stamford (non-remote)
Carmody is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join the firm’s Real Estate & Land Use team in the Stamford office. Carmody’s Land Use team counsels clients on all aspects of zoning and permitting, works with development teams, and represents clients in front of municipal boards and state agencies, litigating zoning issues and representing clients in appeals. This position supports the delivery of quality client services by providing administrative support to attorneys working in these complex and exciting areas. Skill Requirements:- Ability to efficiently manage multiple assignments, calendars and scheduling for multiple attorneys
- Ability to act as a liaison between Land Use team members, clients and municipalities while demonstrating a high level of professionalism and customer service
- Ability to take initiative and solve problems
- Team-oriented and willing to assist the Land Use team with any requests
- Ability to manage assignments through completion with high level of organization
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, including formatting documents, proofreading and redlining
- Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint
- Experience tracking statutory deadlines and ensuring statutory notice requirements are met
- Stay up-to-date on municipality news and update team as applicable

Legal Assistant – New Haven (non-remote)
Carmody is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join the firm, to be based in its New Haven office. This position supports the delivery of quality client services by providing administrative support to attorneys working on litigation, real estate and corporate matters. Carmody seeks an experienced Legal Assistant to join its Litigation team. Candidates should have 5+ years of experience supporting lawyers in a busy Litigation practice. This position is non-remote and is based in the firm’s Guilford office. Skill Requirements:- Excellent typing skills, including the ability to transcribe dictation with a high level of accuracy;
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel);
- Strong organization and file management skills;
- Strong word processing and document editing skills;
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage multiple assignments and competing deadlines;
- Strong attention to detail;
