Overview
Meaghan represents developers, individuals and corporate entities in real estate and land use matters throughout Connecticut. Meaghan guides clients through the development process, and represents them in connection with obtaining municipal and state approvals for large scale development and real estate transactions, including mixed-use developments, multi-family and age-restricted housing, affordable housing, retail, commercial and industrial projects. Meaghan also assists clients with post-approval matters, including land use appeals and litigation.
Prior to joining Carmody, Meaghan served as law clerk to the Honorable William J. Sullivan and the Honorable William J. Lavery of the Connecticut Appellate Court, where her responsibilities included, in part, assisting with land use petitions for certification. During law school, she served as judicial intern for the Honorable Vanessa L. Bryant of the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut.
Experience
Meaghan’s experience includes obtaining municipal approvals for:
- the construction of a 34-story, mixed use tower on an urban renewal parcel in Stamford
- the construction of new corporate headquarters for a Fortune 100 company in Stamford
- the conversion of a secondary education facility to an arts and education campus in Torrington
- the redevelopment and construction of 114 housing units in New Haven, of which 80% qualify as affordable housing
