Overview
Jacqueline Kaufman represents developers, individuals and corporate entities in real property and land use matters. She regularly appears before municipal commissions and agencies in Fairfield and New Haven counties on a wide range of applications, including zone changes, subdivisions, site plans, special permits, variances, inland wetland and coastal area permits. Jacqueline also represents individuals in residential real estate transactions and prepares zoning analyses related to potential developments and property acquisitions. Jacqueline also files and defends administrative appeals in the Connecticut Superior Court. Prior to joining Carmody Torrance Sandak & Hennessey as a partner, Jacqueline was a partner with Sandak Hennessey & Greco LLP with whom she had practiced since 2003.
Experience
- Evaluate land use development potential for specific parcels
- Prepare land use applications to Zoning, Planning, Inland Wetland Commissions and Zoning Board of Appeals of various municipalities
- Represent applicants in administrative land use proceedings
- Represent successful applicants in post approval administrative permitting on the municipal and state level
- Prepare, brief and argue motions for appeals from administrative decisions before the Superior Count of Connecticut
- Conduct property tax assessments and appeals
- Represent clients in connection with land boundary disputes
- Draft legal documents including, land use agreements, easements, licenses, affordability plans, incorporation documents and litigation pleadings related to land use matters
- Preparation and negotiation of residential purchase and sale agreements and related closing documentation
- Review and evaluation of title in connection with commercial, residential, and land use matters
