Anthony F. El-Hashem

Overview

Anthony is an associate in Carmody’s Business Services Group and a member of the firm’s immigration practice. Anthony represents corporate clients and individuals in obtaining immigration assistance and benefits.

Anthony handles a wide range of employment-based nonimmigrant and immigrant visa petitions, including H-1B, L-1A, L-1B, O-1, TN, EB-1, EB-2, and EB-3 petitions, for clients in various industries, such as hospitals and health care networks, laboratories, universities, parenteral drug packaging companies, software development and technology firms, advertising agencies, wealth management firms, and others. He also provides advanced and strategic advice to clients in order to prepare PERM labor certifications and comprehensive responses to the government’s most complex requests for evidence. In addition, Anthony has successfully processed many J-1 waivers, including those issued under the Conrad 30 program and by the Department of Health and Human Services.

Anthony also handles family-based cases and U.S. citizenship matters, such as I-130 petitions, adjustment of status applications, petitions to remove conditions on residence, and naturalization applications. Anthony has successfully represented clients at green card and naturalization interviews before U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services.

Prior to joining Carmody, Anthony was an Attorney Advisor in the Department of Justice’s Executive Office for Immigration Review and served as a Trial Attorney with the Civil Division’s Office of Immigration Litigation. During law school, Anthony was awarded the Maxwell Friedman Award for outstanding achievement in commercial subjects. Anthony was also a member of the Connecticut Law Review.
